Parents in charge. Schools safe. Children protected.

The Challenge

The Challenge

Florida has led the nation in giving parents the authority that should have been theirs all along — the authority to direct their children's education, to choose the right school, and to know what is being taught in their classrooms. We cannot let any of that ground be retaken.

At the same time, the threats to Florida's children have moved online, into devices that fit in their hands. Predators on social media. Algorithms designed to addict. Trafficking networks that recruit through games and chat apps. Mental health pressures that didn't exist a generation ago. We have to protect our children from each of them.

What Chris will fight for

What Chris will fight for

  • Parental rights, fully protected.

Parents — not government, not unions, not federal agencies — decide what is right for their children's education and upbringing.

  • A school resource officer on every campus, every shift.

No exceptions, no gaps, no excuses.

  • Strong threat assessment teams in every district.

The lesson of Parkland was that the warning signs were there. We must never miss them again.

  • Tougher state laws against the online exploitation of children.

Stronger penalties for traffickers who recruit through social media. Real enforcement against platforms that look the other way.

  • A civics-first curriculum.

Florida's children should graduate knowing the Constitution, the Declaration, and the history of the country they have inherited.

The record behind it

The record behind it

Chris leads a sheriff's office whose SRO unit was named the best in Florida. He has overseen human trafficking operations that rescued children from situations most parents never want to imagine. His agency built one of the state's largest behavioral health response teams, in part because so many of the calls deputies were running involved kids in crisis. He has done this work. He will continue it in Tallahassee.
